Rareboost Seminar Announcement – Prof. Fatih Ezgü

On April 26th at 11:00, Prof. Fatih Ezgü will give a seminar titled ” Clinical and pre-clinical drug development in rare diseases: 2024 Update” at IBG.

Prof. Ezgü is a Professor of Pediatrics, faculty member at the Division of Pediatric Metabolic Disorders and Pediatric Genetics, Gazi University School of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. Prof. Ezgü has worked in the field of inborn metabolic and genetic diseases for 25 years and has published over 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Introducing Prof. Ezgü

Prof. Ezgü obtained his medical degree from Ankara University in 1993, completed his pediatric residency at Gazi University in 1998. In 2005, he moved to the Institute of Human Genetics, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, USA and completed his Clinical Genetics Residency training as well as a Research Fellowship for molecular genetics at Intercampus Medical Genetics Training Program in University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Ezgü returned to Gazi University as Associate Professor of Pediatrics before assuming his current positions in 2011.

Prof. Ezgü has worked in the field of pediatric metabolic and genetic diseases for 25 years. His primary interests are lysosomal disorders, glycogen storage disorders, mitochondrial disorders, clinical dysmorphology and genetic and metabolic bone disease and novel treatments for genetic disorders including gene therapy. Dr. Ezgü is also currently the vice chairman of the Phase I Clinical Trials Center for Genetic Diseases at Gazi University.
