February 28 Rare Disease Day – II. Rare Hackathon Program
Are you ready for the Rare Hackathon?
Let’s meet at the Rare Hackathon on February 28, Rare Disease Day! At this event, students from health and life sciences will work to find solutions for rare cases, learning about rare diseases while competing for prizes.
⚠️ Important note: The Rare Hackathon program will consist of two parts:
In the morning program (9:30-13:00), only the staff and students who will compete in the Hackathon will meet at IBG Aziz Sancar Auditorium and work on solving the cases.
In the afternoon (13:00-15:30), in an open session where everyone is invited, student groups will present their solutions to the cases and the winning groups will be awarded.

Rare Hackathon Program
Case Study Session (Only open to students and staff partaking in the competition)
9:30 – 10:00: Registration
10:00 – 10:30: Information about the hackathon and cases (Prof. Nur Arslan, Prof. Okay Çağlayan)
10:30 – 13:00: Rare Hackathon case studies and preparation of presentations
Note: Lunch will be served during the hackathon for participants
Case Study Presentations and Announcement of the Winners (Open to general audience)
13:00 – 15:00pm
- Short talk by Prof. Uğur Özbek ‘Introduction to the Hackathon and Rare Disease Day’
- Case Solutions Presentations by Groups
