IBG and Sidra Medicine to Establish Collaborations in Rare Diseases
On January 24th, IBG hosted Sidra Medicine for a Scientific Collaboration Meeting organized by the RareBoost team. This meeting marked a significant step towards establishing a productive partnership between the two institutions to advance research in rare diseases.
The event was honored by the presence of Prof. Bayram Yılmaz, IBG Director and DEU Rector, and Prof. Khalid A. Fakhro, Chief Research Officer of Sidra Medicine.
The meeting included engaging presentations from Principal Investigators of both institutions, showcasing their research initiatives. Prof. Fakhro provided an overview of Sidra Medicine and The Qatar Mendelian Program, Sidra’s Precision Medicine Program and The Laboratory of Genomic Medicine. Presentations underlined the shared commitment to addressing unmet medical needs in the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases.
The event also featured closed discussion sessions, where researchers identified opportunities for joint projects and funding applications.
