IBG T&T Session: Body Language & Effective Presentation Techniques – Dr. Kaan Mert Güven, Müderris Training & Consultancy
As part of the IBG Teaching & Training Series, we will hold a full-day, in-person session on “Body Language & Effective Presentation Techniques” on May 14 2025 at IBG.
The training will be given by Dr. Kaan Mert Güven from Müderris Training & Consultancy.
Training will be held in English.
About the Session
This training aims to equip participants with essential body language and presentation techniques to enhance their communication skills, confidence, and audience engagement.
By focusing on posture, gestures, facial expressions, voice modulation, and storytelling, participants will learn to deliver impactful and persuasive presentations in professional and academic settings.

Training Session Program
📍 İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center, Aziz Sancar Auditorium
9:00 – 10:30 Get to know each other, expectations, agenda, group dynamics
This opening sets the foundation for a collaborative and respectful learning environment. Participants will have the opportunity to get to know one another, share expectations, and engage in interactive group dynamic activities. The agenda will be presented in a participatory manner, and the group will begin building a shared understanding of the goals and approach of the training.
10:30-11:00 ☕ Coffee Break
11:00-12.30 Body language: posture, eye contact, breathing, gestures, facial expressions, hands and movements
This session explores the fundamentals of non-verbal communication and the role it plays in how we are perceived and how we connect with others. Through experiential activities and guided reflection, participants will become more aware of their own body language and learn strategies to use it more effectively and authentically in various communication contexts.
12:30-13:30 Lunch Break
13:30-15:00 Presentation skills: managing the group, techniques to maintain attention, asking and answering questions
Participants will explore techniques to manage group dynamics, maintain audience engagement, and effectively ask and respond to questions. Emphasis will be placed on practicing these skills in a safe and constructive environment.
15:00-15:30 ☕ Coffee Break and preparations
15:30-16:30 Stage is yours!
In this practical session, participants will apply what they have learned throughout the day. Each participant will have the opportunity to present or perform in front of the group in a supportive setting. The focus is on experimentation, learning from experience, and constructive feedback rather than on performance perfection.
16:30-17:00 Wrap-up, Oral, written evaluation and closing
The training will conclude with a structured reflection session. Participants will share their insights, provide feedback on the training process, and complete a brief evaluation. This is also a space for closure, highlighting key takeaways and expressing final thoughts before ending the day.
About the Trainer: Dr. Kaan Mert Güven, Müderris Training & Consultancy
Dr. Kaan Mert Güven is an experiential learning trainer, medical doctor (M.D.), and Ph.D. candidate and research assistant in the Department of Medical Education at Acıbadem University. Beginning his civil society journey in 2015, he has collaborated extensively with IFMSA and TurkMSIC, the world’s largest medical student organizations, as a youth trainer.
Güven has delivered training in experiential learning, soft skills, and medical education to diverse audiences, including NGOs, private sector actors, and academic institutions. Currently a research assistant in the Department of Medical Education at Acıbadem University, his work bridges education, research, and organizational development.
Müderris Training & Consultancy is an educational center located in Beyoğlu, Istanbul, that stands out with its experiential learning methodology. The company aims to increase both the performance and well-being of employees by offering customized solutions for corporate development. The experiential learning approach allows participants to learn by actively experiencing, which makes learning more effective.
Registration Instructions for the Training Session
Participants who wish to attend this training must register. Registration will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. Maximum capacity for the session is 40 participants. For IBG Participants: Quota is reserved for a maximum of 2 participants per lab.
Registration fee: There is a registration fee of 400 TL for IBG-affiliated participants and 800 TL for participants outside of IBG. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
