Interactive Scientific Research Project Proposal Writing Training

This course aims to provide training to graduate students and young academics studying/working in the health sciences and basic sciences on project types, project writing, and execution processes through case studies, and to provide experience in writing and executing qualified, applicable, and high-impact TÜBİTAK research project proposals. 

The “Interactive Scientific Research Project Proposal Writing Training,” supported under the TÜBİTAK 2237-B program, will be held on May 14-15, 2026 at Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center, Izmir, Türkiye.

Training will be in English.

Topics

The training will cover:

  • Key components of an R&D project, including hypothesis development, literature review, preliminary data presentation, project planning and structure (risk analysis, budgeting, and team organization)
  • Reasons for project application rejection and project revision
  • Execution and reporting of projects that qualify for support

Application process

  • The deadline for applications is April 3rd, 2026, at the end of business hours. 
  • Researchers wishing to participate must fill out the Application Form
  • A limited number of participants will be selected, including: 20 participants from outside İzmir and 10 local participants from İzmir. 

Financial support and coverage

Limited travel support will be provided to participants traveling from outside İzmir in the form of a daily allowance of 1,250 TL for the duration of course. Accommodation (for participants outside Izmir) and daily meals, including lunch and snacks, will be provided.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be under 40 years of age at the time of application.
  • Hold at least one of the following qualifications:

1. Doctoral students in Health Sciences or Basic Sciences who have completed their coursework or whose thesis proposals have been approved.

2. Researchers holding a specialization degree, including postdoctoral researchers, early-career faculty members, medical residents (MDs), and medical specialists.

  • Must not have previously participated in a project training supported under this program.
  • Be registered in the TÜBİTAK–ARBİS system.
  • Upload a CV generated through TÜBİTAK–ARBİS (CVs in other formats will not be accepted)
  • Complete registration using the same email address as registered in TÜBİTAK–ARBİS.
