Project Manager (ERDERA Project, actively recruiting)
Offer Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Project Manager for the ERDERA project. The European Rare Diseases Research Alliance (ERDERA) (www.erdera.org) is a partnership that aims to improve the health and well-being of the 30 million people living with a rare disease in Europe, by making Europe a world leader in Rare Disease (RD) research and innovation, in support of concrete health benefits to rare disease patients, through better prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
The project manager will be involved in the management of tasks that IBG (Izmir Biomedicine Genome Center) is leading and also the subtasks that IBG is contributing to the project. The main role of the Project Manager is crucial to ensure the smooth execution of these tasks achieving the project’s objectives promptly and reporting on project progress directly to the project coordinator/leader.
Responsibilities
- To assist in establishing the higher education program and ensure its successful implementation. This includes monitoring progress, addressing challenges, and coordinating with stakeholders (WP 20).
- To support the activities to contribute to the creation testing and improvement of the pilot program. Follow and contribute to the evaluation of the program.
- To identify potential stakeholders and prepare the infrastructure to establish necessary partnerships with institutions and organizations.
- To make the essential connections to ensure the sustainability of the program.
- To support the development and management of National Mirror Groups (NMGs) (WP23)
- To facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among NMGs and supporting establishment of Turkish NMG.
- To contribute to the mapping exercise to identify the specific needs and expectations of UCs (Underrepresented Countries) and support their full integration in RD research and innovation (WP24)
- To participate in preparing the necessary ground for the strategic alliance (WP25)
- To follow project progress and ensure that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure all EU reporting requirements are met, and the project deliverables meet high-quality standards.
- To identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- To provide regular updates on project progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate project meetings, maintain contact lists, document meeting minutes and decisions, and share with participants.
- To maintain project documentation and records. Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
- To present the project to external stakeholders when requested.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in international relations, education, management, health sciences, or a related field of study.
Experience
- Experience with the management of EU-funded (research) projects;
- Relevant education and documented work experience within education, health science, or project management
- Good communication, writing, and networking skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- At least two years of experience in a non-profit, private, or governmental organization projects
