Seminar Overview
The seminar will provide a structured roadmap for researchers at different career stages. Through an interactive format, Prof. Dr. Akdoğan will address key topics including:

Drawing on extensive international experience through organizations such as FEBS, ORPHEUS, and IUBMB, the speaker will share practical insights and real-world examples. Participants will gain actionable tools for developing a personalized career action plan, enhancing productivity, and supporting long-term research well-being.
About the speaker
Gül Güner Akdoğan is a Professor at the School of Medicine, Izmir University of Economics, where she also serves as Chair of the Medical Biochemistry Department, Director of the Basic Medical Sciences Division, Coordinator of Researcher Training, and Chair of the Health Sciences Ethical Board. She is currently the Chair of the ORPHEUS Labelling Committee.
Prof. Dr. Akdoğan holds BSc and MSc degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Geneva and completed her PhD at Istanbul University. She has held academic positions at Dokuz Eylül University School of Medicine and was a visiting professor at West Virginia University School of Medicine through an ECFMG fellowship.
She has played a leading role in European and international research education, serving as Chair of the FEBS Education Committee and as a member of the IUBMB Education Committee, and has organized more than 100 training activities focused on PhD education and researcher career development. Her research focuses on the extracellular matrix in health and disease and its interaction with fibroblasts.
