Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder with a strong but complex genetic component. In this seminar, Dr. Salman will provide an overview of recent advances in epilepsy genomics, highlighting findings from large-scale international studies, including the Epi25 collaboration. These efforts have brought together tens of thousands of patients and controls and have used exome sequencing and genotyping approaches to identify rare variants, copy-number changes, and common genetic risk factors associated with epilepsy.

The presentation will discuss how these studies have uncovered genes, genomic regions, and biological pathways that contribute to epilepsy risk, while demonstrating the growing role of genomic data in understanding and diagnosing this complex neurological disorder.
